Amidst the concern of the COVID-19 pandemic, Awake Ministries would like to issue the following statement:
Awake Ministries continues to provide monitored care to all our clients, however, that has required modifications as we strive to meet the requirements set forth by state and federal officials.
We have taken measures to eliminate congregate settings within our buildings and have implemented all suggestions per CDC and WHO including education of the spread and symptoms of COVID-19, a rigorous cleaning routine, and social distancing as much as it is allowed in a communal living situation. Outpatient and transitional client meetings are now taking place via phone, or Facebook video chat.
In order to be as safe as possible, we have suspended all on-site volunteering with the exception of our every Wednesday food distribution, which is currently working on a drive through basis, and residential housing meal donations, which can be dropped off at the front door of the facility. For more information regarding food insecurity, please contact us at 502-647-5555.
We covet your prayers for our organization. With the nature of recovery ministry, adversity is not uncommon and proves to us often how God specializes in bringing growth and healing out of persistent darkness.
Tangibly, general operating funds and supplies are often depleted during times of crisis. Awake Ministries is no exception as we continue to provide services to our community’s most vulnerable citizens. So in a plea to help curb the impact of COVID-19, please consider making a timely donation either on our website www.awakeky.org or by mail to the following address:
701 Washington Street
Shelbyville, KY 40065
Thank you in advance for your care and support. Stay tuned for updates as we strive to navigate the unfamiliar waters of this global crisis. Much is unknown to us, but nothing is unknown to our Heavenly Father.
